My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

Bosnia & Herzegovina | Wednesday, January 9, 2013 | 5 photos

Photography was one of the first passions that developed purely from within me, and not some external force shaping my life. After all, we never even owned a camera in my family. I firmly believe that had there not been a war in Bosnia, I would have become an artist or a photographer. I bought my first camera in 2007 when I decided to study abroad in Kenya. It was stolen on the weekend of my arrival. Later in 2009, the organization for which I worked closed and I inherited a camera from my boss. That year I was on a quest for self discovery and taking my little sister along to India. This was the official beginning of my love affair with photography. To this day, my pictures from India remain as my most beautiful collection. In 2010, I traveled to Turkey, Jordan, and Israel while teaching in the United Arab Emirates. I turned into a photo fanatic, especially after discovering the miracle of macro shots. I believe that I have talent for taking photos. Learning new techniques and improving my skills in photography is primarily for personal fulfillment, but with increased confidence, I might consider the professional route. Traveling to Oman to do travel photography is the icing on a cake.
