My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

I’m Anna Mochnacka, a Polish girl who earns her living by teaching English in Spain and in her free time hitchhikes around the world. I’m also an editor of Hitch Hikers’ Handbook, a website whose main focus is budget travelling and photography. Although the website is still in its infancy, we’ve managed to gather a firm community of shutterbugs who participate in our weekly travel photography competitions. This is something I’m proud of and something that gives me a lot of satisfaction because I live photography and I like giving people the opportunity to show off their work.
I’ve decided to apply for the Travel Photography Scholarship as I’m convinced it would not only help me master my manual photography skills but it would also enable me to learn how to tactfully take photos of people from different cultures. This sensitivity to others is one of the most important, yet one of the most difficult skills to acquire.
While hitchhiking, I see a lot of extraordinary things, which I yet have to learn how to convey through my photos. I feel that Jason’s mentoring would be the perfect opportunity for me to learn how I could show people all the amazing things I find on the road.
