The magic of High Street

My Photo scholarship 2010 entry

Worldwide | Sunday, October 17, 2010 | flickr photos

Everyone can take a snapshot, but very few can make a photograph.
My submission, called "The magic of High Street", surprises key moments that make this place, existing in every village, small town or big city of the world, one of the most attractive.
The purpose is to present the unnoticed small moments that each of us lives when being present in this monument of ephemeral happiness that can be bought with a piece of plastic.

Now, regarding my motivation to apply.

On a strictly objective level, i want to travel with you to Bhutan in order to learn about the actual, real-life experience of being a travel photographer. Besides vision and passion, i think that success is built on endless hours of practice and work. I would very much appreciate the chance to see all of these elements come together in an assignment with a renowned professional such as yourself.

On the personal side, i would love to get a glimpse into how you deal with people and with yourself so as to communicate through the photographs the story you lived. No matter if shooting for an assignment or in his free time, i strongly believe that the character and the world vision of the photographer transpires in all of his shots. As such, it is this process that very much interests me, and this would be a great opportunity to share it together with you.

About myself there are few important things to be mentioned. Had a fascination with photography even before i knew how a camera looks like and am currently focusing on portraiture and street photography. I work hard at improving my abilities and believe that nothing can replace endless hours of practice.

Thank you for reading this.
I really hope you like my submitted photos and am looking forward to becoming the best one-week assistant you ever had.
