My Scholarship entry - Beijingers

China | Tuesday, November 11, 2014 | 5 photos

To some people travelling takes up longer than a week, a hundred pictures of touristic sites and a few local dishes in English-speaking restaurants; it takes longer, it takes getting to know locals, their favorite places and habits - I am one of those people.

I feel blessed to have traveled much already (US, China, North-Africa, throughout Europe), yet each time I grew longing for staying longer. When I travel, I get sucked in local traditions, names and cultures, I pick up the language and the lives of my encounters. Once you have understood how people live, how man is colonizing the earth where you are, then little little pearls of people's lives and culture start popping to the eye - meaning, perhaps. This is the very way I developed a passion for photography.

I am a hard-working, globe-trotting Italian graduate in Philosophy who is going all-in pursuing a career in photography and story-telling - my other passion. I will be clear - I don't bring a professional skill set to the table, not yet. But I bring sensitivity, eye, a global understanding of the world and an extraordinary, spontaneous passion for details.
