My Scholarship entry - Seeing the world through other eyes

WORLDWIDE | Wednesday, 4 April 2012 | Views [213] | Scholarship Entry

everytime i travel to another country, i always say to myself that this one will be the new experience, although i go to the same countries several times. like this March when i went to Bangkok. i met a japanese boy named wataru yoshimura. when we walked around ayutthaya (yes, walk literally) he asked me how Indonesian teachers taught us about japanese. as we know, indonesia had brutally colonized (in our opinion) by the japanese regime around 45's or 48's. well, i don't care much about history. but wataru's question were made me realized that even after all these years, japanese still feel guilty to our country. i learned much from this boy. about japanese's culture, their very good habit, and i always compare that with my own country. after i'm back to indonesia, i realized that my country needs a lot of social and habitual changing. like how should the bus stops, how to respect our elderly, how to behave as a car rider. and so, i challenge myself to change first, then slowly change people around me. like japanese, now i never going late to college cuz i realize how important a time management. being sincere and can be trust by others, how to save and spend my money well, how to be independent and not a crybaby anymore. sadly, i never wrote my traveling experience, cuz i dunno where to start the story, and which part should i share to my readers. so i keep the stories in my mind until now.
