Hi I'm Annette Chisholm, My submission is 8 seconds can change your life.
8 Seconds is the time it will take you to skim over my written component. This 8 seconds could change my life.
I chose to shoot a rodeo for the colour, character and speed of the subjects and the stories behind the shots.
These men live for their 8 seconds to prove they can tame the beast and put their skills to the test. Each time I frame and compose a photo this is my skills test. I always try to improve my skills and believe it is important to capture these moments for future generations.
The photography bug bit me in 2004 on a trip around Australia, there were so many sights I tried to shoot on my old camera which just didn't show the true Australian outback. I bought a DSLR and started learning about the camera and my own capabilities. I then upgraded, where I have learnt that you never stop learning, and I let every time I get behind the lens teach me something new.
I'm hungry to learn more and would embrace the opportunity to learn first hand from a master of the craft.
Life is made up of a series of moments, I want to win this scholarship so that I can record faithfully the moments that matter.
