My Scholarship entry - Working on sea ice

Canada | Sunday, November 23, 2014 | 5 photos

I've been part of a research field work in Cambridge Bay, Nunavut, Canada in June 2014.
Our mission was to collect samples of sea water, sea ice and melt ponds in order to investigate cold adaptation and global warming impact on polar microrganisms.
I tried my best to document our work and daily life. The very first time I went on the sea ice it was a Friday 13th. It was snowing and we couldn't see a thing. The space around us was dimensionless because of the lack of shadow, contrast, trees and sound. Mind blowing. I decided to show you the few hours I spent that day with my colleague.
