rhodes...the greatest medieval town maybe in the world. so much of it is still standing. the palace of the knights was cool and just walking down the alleys with the high walls and the few old mosques was a really cool experience.
i could have stayed on rhodes for a WEEK. the weather was warm, the food available, the greek-mediterranean easy going attitude that caters to tourists, and the huge desserts and i mean HUGE.
BUT. i was anxious, anxious since athens. i've been thinking a lot about turkey, and the new travel warnings didn't help. turkey was going to be different, i knew. and i couldn't sit still another day.
so off i went...
bye greece. and all the american tourists. no wonder why this place is such a vacation hot spot. no, wonder!
