santorini

GREECE | Monday, 15 October 2007 | Views [610]

santorini is unique.

it's like a GIGANTIC piece of rock surfaced above the sea and accrued civilization.  driving and walking along cliffs is wearisome to me, but i enjoyed the beaches and touristic areas of fira and oia.  i ALMOST rented a motor vehicle, but hesitated.  was too chicken to drive with the speedy greeks!

met a tired american girl, au pair, on break from the family in sweden and a therapist/professor who teaches in philly.  i was eating across from him in oia and had a feeling he was some kind of professor.  turned out he had a daughter named Anna, and i left him to watch the renown sunset on oia (ee-ah).  Oo-ahh.

bye for now, santorini...
