Tibet - Their Homeland

The artist:
This mandala painter works in the centre of Old Town Lhasa, in a studio with 10 others. He is a master of his craft but after 30 years of training all artists still consider themselves to be students. The mandala is the Buddhist image of life and the universe existing both within and beyond our body and mind. It depicts the paths to enlightenment – a state desired by all Buddhists, and involves all living things.
