My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited
United Kingdom | Thursday, June 20, 2013 | 5 photos
I began practicing photography since I had my hands on my first phone camera, having a 1 megapixel lens, barely a lens compared to my first DSLR which I was given in August 2011. This is where my journey in photography avalanched. Taking snaps of everything on a day to day basis - my cat, flowers, grass, eggs, buildings, bugs, perfume bottles. I'm very much into art and been told I have a good eye for detail, composition, light and balance, so I've always taken these attributes and put them into practice whenever taking a shot - of anything. During the last near 2 years, my practice has ranged from baby and press shoots, events such as music and clubs, ceremonial and weddings, and most recently - car shows, (love the old american classics and muscles,) and also waterscape photography, the latter two, have without a doubt, opened new doors for me. However, as far as I can remember, I've always been an animal lover and have a keen interest in documentary photography, something that baby shoots and club photos don't do is raise awareness of environmental factors, and the unseen cultures and habitats. I feel as though my desire to photograph could serve a much grander purpose.
