Pick Me! Pick Me!

I'm passionate about Africa, wildlife and photography. I lived in Zimbabwe for a year teaching in a scorpion-infested, plumbing-free rural school, but I haven't visited South Africa yet. I love African wildlife, culture and people and am equally comfortable roughing it as I am in luxury game lodges.

I'm so crazy about wildlife that five years ago I convinced my husband we should sell our house and belongings, uproot our three young children from their home in New Zealand and move to Central America to experience life in the jungle. We moved to the south of Costa Rica which has more biodiversity than anywhere else on the planet. There I learned to love not just the monkeys and toucans, but even the giant bugs that swooped into our lives. It was National Geographic magazine in 3D.

Like all good world nomads I'm obsessed with travel writing, stories and taking photos. My travel writing has been published and I created my travel blog Get In the Hot Spot two years ago. I know photography is my weakest link so I'd relish the chance to improve those skills - there's room for improvement. Spending eight days on assignment in Krueger National Park with Jason Edwards would be a true privilege and I'd be the keenest student.

I was born in the UK but currently live in Australia where I juggle three children, two blogs and one husband. Watch out for me power walking on the beach at dawn. My life is full but I'd stop the world for this experience. My family, friends and travel blog readers would love to hear my South African stories and see the amazing photos as much as I'd love to share them.
