Holy Week in Guatemala

GUATEMALA | Thursday, 27 March 2008 | Views [722]

I spent last week (Holy Week) observing the processions that are so prominent in Guatemala City the week before Easter. I didn't get to write about it so much, but I have these photos as a sort of photo-journal, with fun & interesting captions...I think :D I suggest going in order, but if you only look at one album, #3 is my favorite.

Enjoy!

Spring Break! [Guatemala]:
(priliminary travel, focuses mainly on the process of making our first "alfombra" (carpet) that we made, the first procession I attended this year)

Spring Break! [Guatemala] #2:
(Working on our second alfombra, much more detail oriented.)

Spring Break! [Guatemala] #3:
(Photos of our most labor intense and, in my opinion, most beautiful alfombra we made and the procession going through; also Holy Thursday processions)

Good Friday, Holy Saturday, & our return to the States:
