Arequipa

Arequipa is a beautiful city.  It's surrounded by snow capped mountains.  We are very pleased that this is the one we chose to spend a few weeks trying to learn Spanish in.  Our hotel is sufficient, close to the main square and restaurants.  We have found a Spanish school and attended our first day of class today.  My morning session wasn’t that great but my afternoon session was much better.  With each session you have a different teacher.  Vinnie was just the opposite in his preferences.  After class we wandered around town and had a nice lunch.  Today is going to be low key with walking later in the day.  We spent most of yesterday wandering and getting our bearings.  Right now we are thinking of doing one week of school then going off and doing some touring.  We might take a second week….or not.  J

Finally catching up myself on your travels... excellent blog! Will be interesting to see how your "total immersion" Spanish lessons go... good luck! Vampire mosquitoes and Dr. Seuss bus rides very amusing!
