The Chili River (from the indigenous term meaning "cold") runs through Arequipa, provides water for the town and lots of farming on the outskirts.

These are cuy (KOO ee), named for the sound they make. We call them guinea pigs. These are actually smaller than those raised for food in the past, but the fate of these guys will be the same. (Note that this cage also contains the little fellows who will end up on the Kiddee Menu.)
