My Photo scholarship 2011 entry

No One's Land.
These photos were taken during my recent trip to Abkhazia, which is a diputed territory on the border between Russia and Georgia. Of course, I talked to people asking them what do they think about the political situation... But the photos aren't about politic, they are about ordinary people's lifes that keep going in the place no matter how it is called - Georgia, Russia or Abkhazia. If I trusted to everything that's written on the Internet, I would never go there, I would think i got robbed, rapped and killed three times in the row in the day of my arrival there. Long time ago I've made an observation: people are as much twisted, as much educated they are; and at the same time they are as much open-hearted, as much poor they are. It is possible to find some exceptions to the rule, but it only proves the statement. Well, the point is that Abkhazia isn't a dangerous place to go to and Abkhazians are very hospitable, though their life conditions aren't easy...
But it's enough about Abkhazia, let's turn back to me. I want to be useful for the society, but the only few things i can do well, are travelling, taking photos, listening to people's talks, which makes them fell better, and telling them stories of other people, who might be very far away from them in the sense of distance and so close in the sense of world view. It sounds too big, but i wish to be an operator of the global communication by means of photography, story telling, drawing and other kinds of arts. Art is in some point something opposite to war.
As I see it, this scholarships is an opportunity for me to make my existence more reasonable by sharing my experience with others.
