I’m hardworking and passionate about telling the story I need to tell. I studied to be an actor, and on the process I realized I wanted to direct. I know what the creative process is like, and I’ve taught myself how to edit and film something. But I could use profesional guidande, especially because in my country, Paraguay, we haven’t got the culture of making movies, so it is very difficult to get proper training. Films are magic and mystery to me, so I want to know more about them.
I loved making this documentary because I got to ask questions. Being behind the camera gave me a reason to get to know someone better and ask silly or philosophical questions no one really asks. I loved the whole process of it: to choose someone, to come up with ideas of locations, making storyboards, I enjoyed every minute. I also had to overcome my shyness and ask a person I was not that close to, to be in my video.
I found that I need to do this more often, everyone should at least try once. I doesn't matter if you aren't so good because what is more important is that you are gaining a lot as a person. Because the whole process is wonderful. You try to make a point, and try to capture a small glimpse of the vastness of the human complexity that you are dealing with in the videos you recorded.
In Paraguay, we need to have more filmmakers, and particularly I need more guidance in order to be useful and do what I love.
