This satin bowerbird is about to start her dance around the bower, her feathers a ruffled and her mate is watching nearby, She has to be on guard to ward of potential rivals whilst trying to impress her mate.

Bowerbirds are very closely related to birds of paradise. This female satin bowerbird is decorating around the outside of the bower with an arrangement of blue artifacts such as bottle tops, hairties, lego, drinking straws, pegs and a variety of plastic objects preparing to attract the male bowerbird.

Clicking sounds along with the courtship dance, the bowerbird fans and flaps her wings and tail moving in an up and down motion, it was an impressive show to watch alongside with the male satin bowerbird.
