My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

I am an amateur photographer. Since I left my day job for travel three years ago, I discovered so much more of the world than what was in my home country - the diversity of culture, the beauty and eye-opening learning experiences in discovering a foreign place, and the empowerment of solo travel. I left Canada, wielding a basic bridge camera and my backpack on my shoulders. With a basic camera, I have taken photos that capture the wonders of new places with my wondering mind.

My first passion is for travel - my second, for photography. I would love to learn the ropes of a proper DSLR camera from a National Geographic professional - this magazine being my initial source of inspiration and motivation while I was saving to travel. It's my dream to, one day, make travel photography more than my passion, but also my profession.
