In five days I'll be embarking on my lovely, long summer vacation before beginning a new life back home in Australia.
First destination: Queenstown, New Zealand. 11 days of snow (Oh, how I hope there's snow; the current reports are simply dire!), skiing, the shotover jet and some nice winter activities. I definitely need to go back to the go-karts. I did them a few years ago and it was great fun.
Next destination involves a week in Auckland to visit my cousin and see the sights.
After that, two weeks in Fiji. I've always wanted to go (I blame The Truman Show) and now I am. I've booked the first week in an upscale hostel (once that might have been an oxymoron, but no longer) and then second week I'm going to be spontaneous. Just how wild and reckless depends on how well my budget is holding up by that stage.
Finally, off to Melbourne to see my brother. I've never been to Melbourne but, again, it's another place I've heard good things about and always wanted to see. I have a list of places to see and I'll do my best to fit them all in. Heck, I might even go to snowfields from there!
After that, I'm thinking Cairns to see my mother for a few weeks. After that? Who knows!
However, before I can embark on these exciting adventures, I have to pack up my life in Indonesia. It's amazing how much 'stuff' you can accumulate in two years without even trying! I'm going through my things, over and over, trying to whittle them down just a bit to save on the shipping. Every cent I spend on shipping detracts from my holiday budget, which isn't all that juicy to start with. I can't afford the dehydration!
