Plan is to take four months off and travel around the world seeing certain sites and countries that I've always wanted to see. I know I will run out of time and that will be an issue towards the end of my trip, but at least I know I can some day get back and see all the places I have missed or places I enjoyed.
Basic plan is as follows:
Fly to Beijing in China. Take the Trans Mongolian Railway to Moscow stopping at various places on the way. Travel South from Moscow to Volgograd and Sochi and catch a ferry to Turkey. See Gallipoli and Troy then hop thru a couple of Greek Islands to Greece and catch a ferry to Croatia, via Italy. Travel up thru Bosnia, Slovenia, Austria into Germany and see Munich and Berlin plus a few sights. Also take a side trip to Czech Republic. Train to Belgium to see The Ardennes’s forest and then over to The Somme region of France to see my Great Uncles Grave Site. Head over Normandy Beaches and then ferry into England and spend two weeks visiting Friends and Relatives. From England fly to New York. Head down to South America and as long as I see Rio, Buenos Aires and Machuu Picchu I'll be a happy man! More if I do get time. I then have to work out how to get home but I can do that when I need to. Would like to go and see Pearl Harbour if I could but will have to wait and see!!
Hoping to be able to keep in touch with friends and family and hopefully upload photos as well, but I'll need some practice at the moment I think!!
