“Why India?” If I had a penny for every time I was asked this question I would be able to afford another trip there again! My response, of course, is “Why not?” But in all honesty, that is a simplistic answer, because the reason why I recently traveled to India is much more meaningful, as it gives insight into who I truly am as a person. India crept its way into my heart when I was a teenager. I was raised in a family that encouraged me to explore my curiosity about the world. The first place I turned to for answers were books. I am not sure, other than it being some karma-related force, why I was so strongly drawn to books on India? I loved the spirituality that the entire country oozed from its pours; the images of the people, land, and temples captured my young heart. In College, I become even more fascinated by India through some classes I was taking and decided half-way through my education to change my major to Asian Studies. I remember spending countless hours learning (and dreaming) about India. I made a promise then that I would one day visit. Fast-forward 10 years later. I finally completed my dream of traveling to the extraordinary nation. India is one of the most vibrant, stimulating, and interesting countries on this planet. Because of this, travelers, like myself, find it a feast for the 5 senses. India is guaranteed to satiate you in every way possible if you give her the opportunity. Thus, with the 5 photos I am submitting, I am hoping to take you on a photographic sensory journey through the country. The photos represent touch, taste, smell, sound, and sight.
