My Scholarship entry - Sylhet Swamp Forest

Bangladesh | Friday, November 14, 2014 | 5 photos

I am Spanish but have lived in the UK with my family since the age of 15. I recently finished a Politics and Development Studies degree from SOAS (University of London) during which I developed a deep interest in the immense range of cultures and societies that exist around the world. I am now taking a year to do a couple of internships in South Asia- I lived in Bangladesh for 3 months and have recently moved to New Delhi. During this time I have had amazing experiences and learnt a great deal from the people that I have met. I have always had a fascination for photography, and for the past few months it has been my way of documenting my experiences, connecting with people and expressing myself. After quite a bit of photography and video experience whilst interning for NGO's this year and in previous years, I have finally decided that documentary photography is the path that I would like to follow. Being chosen for this scholarship would be extremely exciting- it would give me an incredible opportunity to learn from very skilled photographers in an amazing place that I have never had the chance of visiting before.
