My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

Photography was somehow always present in my life, but around me. My father loves it, I have two cousins who have entered in some competions, and I always liked it. But it was only when I started to grow wings and travel on my own, that I could no longer leave the camera behind. I started to save money and bought a nice camera, not professional but nice, and I would take it everywhere. I´m always dreaming of the journey I will take that year.
Photography, when you take some time to do it, is like drawing, you notice every detail, you look closely to things, you feel the surrounding, you breathe carefully because you don’t want to scare the butterfly. For me it´s a reunion with nature. It is a time that I am with myself and the place.
In spite of loving it, I never had any training. I took two small workshops to learn how to use the camera properly, I read some books, but I never had the chance to have someone mentoring me, taking their time to teach me. So this is really a lifetime opportunity to learn a lot and who knows, maybe one day I can live by doing the two things I love the most, travelling and photographing.
