The passage o life

My Photo scholarship 2011 entry

Worldwide | Tuesday, November 8, 2011 | 5 photos

When I have the camera in my hands, it is like my third hand, giving me the feeling that I hold the power to transfer the beauty that human eye can see.

In my home country, Bosnia and Herzegovina, there is no place which could help me to develop further in this area. That is why I am trying to teach myself, observing others and trying on my own. I consider that persistance and hard work will lead us to the perfect photos of life.

I choose to do the gap year now, to volunteer and learn through practice. Being a part of this project would allow me to spread my knowledge and discover again why I see this life through lenses.

I have seen many things in my life, moving from one place to another due to the war circumstances, and poor living conditions in Balkan countries, trying to find the place to fit in. Travelling to Rijeka, on All Saints Day, I have stopped at the graveyard and I was surprised to see it so blissful and peaceful. The young boy stood there laughing saying how his grandpa would like him to laugh and not to cry.

This showed me that we have to live for the journey, not the destination. Life is just too short. We have to bring back the memories and never end up in trash. We have to fight, dream and believe.

I am a fighter, seeking the life behind the boundaries that may have been set up in front of us. I am a dreamer, approaching to the life through the mirror of the soul. I am a believer, knowing that, not tomorrow, but today is my chance to built up the tower of change in the future. I am ready. When I hold camera in my hands, I have the feeling that I am finally home and that no one will ever take this away from me.
