Hey, what a gorgeous place! Can just about sense the warmth oozing in through the front porch - used to the climate yet? I guess things must be a bit more slow motion, but that can be a good thing :)

The heat is bearable most of the time... I was pretty staunch about it when I arrive I tried not to use the air con in the motel - and have been walking - never sweated so much in my entire life! Sometimes though it can become airless and I almost feel claustrophobic and have to work hard at not to panic. Constantly washing clothes and taking showers. Both ceiling fan and portable one I bought from NZ are constant companions. They produce a hypnotic drone and at different times my ear detects varieties in pitch; these sounds take on other forms such as heavy rain on the tin roof of a tramping hut or the roar of 747 engine: this occur often on waking which can leave me feeling quite disorientated - they are distinctly elsewhere places.

slow... well yes and no....work is but in other contexts definately things feel like island time and the word deadline does not exist here!
