My Scholarship entry - Camp Kaitoke - An Adventure Awaits
New Zealand | Monday, November 17, 2014 | 5 photos
I am a keen amateur photographer who developed a passion for photography in my final year at school. I have since done some evening classes which have helped me with my camera and photography techniques.
I use my camera a little at work taking photographs of children at after school care and holiday camps for which I am a part-time leader.
For myself I take photos of nature, animals, effects with light and my surroundings. I like the challenge of taking a photo that stands out, one that you would want to look at again and again. Also it is a creative way of showing things differently.
I would love the opportunity to work with a professional photographer on such a unique assignment which would be of enormous value to me.
This trip would be an amazing experience to photograph a place I never thought I would be able to go to, and to do so in the company of a professional would be a truly life-changing experience and bring a whole new dimension to my photography.
I believe National Geographic photographers are the best of the best and to be on a live assignment with one these “best” would fulfill an ambition which I never dreamt I would be able to fulfill.
