My grandpa (along with my mother) survived a devastating house fire in the early 60s leaving his hands with very limited flexibility. While it is very difficult for him to grasp a coffee mug, shucking corn remains second nature. This would be activity number four in a-day-in-the-life: food preparation.

Very often, our post dinner activity would be playing pool. I particularly liked this image because of the linear quality of the wooden wall panels in the background. This would be activity number 5 in a-day-in-the-life: pool.

Going into the closest town, Walker, MN, one of the first stores you encounter is Reeds Sporting Goods. I got separated from my family momentarily because i discovered the fishing area with rows and rows of colorful lures. This would be activity number 2 in a-day-in-the-life: fishing.
