Well the last few months leading up to this trip have been hectic!! Students to organise and last minute changes to staffing (we miss you Pete!!!!)
But, our experiences so far have been FANTASTIC! It has been a thrill watching the students interact with locals and the culture shock that's so obvious each time they're in a new situation.
Cambodia gave us so many highlights. The orphange at Siem Reap brought a tear to everyone's eyes and they all enjoyed playing games with the orphans in the playground (some were violent variation with a rope on the classic "ring around a rosie.") The Landmine Museum was very confrontational and brought us all back to the reality of what life in Cambodia is really like.
We've been in Vietnam a few days now and although "it's not a shopping trip" the students (and some staff) are enjoying haggling with the locals and purchasing some great bargains. We spent today with the hill tribes in Sapa which quite an adventure.
On Saturday we head back to Hanoi on the overnight train(so looking forward to that trip) and we'll fly to Saigon.
More adventures (and shopping) ahead for us!!
