Outward Journery & arrival

UNITED KINGDOM | Friday, 5 October 2007 | Views [410]

Well, that was the shortest flying time ever. We had a 100min delay in Glasgow, and the pilot managed to speed in the air to get to Dubai in 7 hours, however we did have to sprint to the gate to get the connection to Perth. It was quite a sight - carrying 2 kids, 1 running and 4 bags of hand luggage. All 3 seemed to think it was good fun. On the 1st flight Joel kept asking the hostess "can I have a sweetie" as he had read the 'Topsy & Tim Go On An Aeroplane' book many times beofre our trip, he was expecting the same treatment. Diane managed to watch 3 films on the flight'The Flying Scotman' (I cried at the end); 'Jindabyne'(I cried at the end) and 'Spiderman 3'(I cried at the end). Caleb managed quite a few films, and Joel managed to not go up and down the plane too much. We also met a man who used to live in Easterhouse and now works in the gold mines.

I've figured that flying to Australia is not the most tiring thing to do, but here is my order of tring events:

1. Childbirth.

2. Staying in hospital with a sick toddler for 3 nights whilst being 9 weeks pregnant.

3. Flying to Australia with 3 small children.

On arrival here we were met by John & Darcy; Tim, Cree, Lillian & Harper. Had a lovely evening meal(light on the stomach compared to the Beef Curry at midnight & chicken curry for breakfast on the flight)

Caleb & Joel went down to bed well but rattled on our door at 2am exicted about it being 'morning'. I sent them back to bed. Joel being his usual resourceful self got up had an apple then put the chewed apple back in the fruit bowl. They both went back to sleep til 10am and had good fun in  the garden playing on the trampoline, and with the football and basketball. We also went to the lcoal park along with about 50 dogs (different from Glasow in that the owners were with them)- a bit smelly and wild but i guess part of the culture....trying to get into more of a routine today - John, Matt, Caleb & Joel off to the Perth Royal Show(like the Ingleston Highlad Show) and Lois and I at home for the day.

Warm & sunny again today.
