My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited - My Kessler Cabin

For most of my life I've lived in Sandy, Utah. I attend Utah Valley University and am living in Provo, Utah. I started out as a Fine Arts Major, I've been drawing and painting since I was very young, but after taking one darkroom class a few years ago, photography just seemed to speak to me in ways that drawing and painting could not! I love the outdoors, hiking in southern Utah (Zion's) is wonderful! I live on the benches of the Wasatch Mountains and love waking up to seeing them every morning. I already have an artistic eye, which has aided me greatly in my photographic pursuits. I'm a happy, fun person and enjoy being around other people and making new friends and learning from them. I am a close listener and am not afraid to try new things. I haven't been out of the United States yet, but being a poor college student, the farthest I can go when I get the "Nomad-Bug" with the little money and time that I have is to dear old Zion's. I would love to experience a world far from my own with a fresh new eye!
