My Photo scholarship 2010 entry

As a child, anything is possible.
I believed there was an intergalactic space war going on between good and evil and when I grew up I was going to join the rebellion and fight the empire.
I also believed that a man named Mr. Popper can raise penguins in an icebox.
As I matured the idea of joining a war among the stars seemed unrealistic as well as the idea of raising penguins in my house's fridge seemed farfetched.
I still held on to hope that one day I can interact with my favorite animal.
When I reached the age of 24, I had the rare and once in a lifetime opportunity to see my furry tuxedo wearing friends in the wild and not behind glass at some penguin encounter.
Shot with a Canon 20D, (used all my saving to buy) and a rented EF 100-400mm IS lens, these are some of the breath taking stills I have captured using the skills I have absorbed in a college photography course.
I still dream big, just a bit more realistic. I am a graphic designer that wants to travel the world. See everything and do everything. I never want to say "I wish I did that"
My experiences tell my story of my life: a volunteer firefighter, amateur bull rider, extreme sports fanatic, 80's hair metal music producer, Environmentalist, diver, restaurant manager and a father.
I will live life to the fullest, because you only live once and if you live it right, once will be enough.
