Evoking the Five Senses

My Scholarship entry - Evoking the Five Senses

Australia | Sunday, January 13, 2013 | 5 photos

It amazes me how you can never really know someone and yet you turn out an identical version of them. Having lost my father (a cameraman for Ch 7) to a helicopter accident at only 19 mths old, I am reminded of him every time I pick up the camera. My family marvel at how similar I am as they see the love and dedication I too invest into my passion.
Studying photography in high school with a b&w film camera is where it all began, but I am basically self taught, researching, learning, youtubing and spending all my spare time, camera in hand. Landscapes are what I love to shoot, however I’m eagerly awaiting a package to arrive with all the basic equipment I need to take my portraits to the next level!
I have just come back from a tour of Europe covering 20 countries in 49 days, and yet I have decided to showcase the place that’s most dear to my heart, the Mornington Peninsula. I am mesmerised by the bay, the transformation it undertakes throughout the seasons, morning to evening and the way it tantalises our five senses. The future holds moving to Florida to obtain my helicopter licence and my favourite place overseas was Turkey, the architecture, shopping and people were unforgettable.
