My Scholarship entry - Scholarship application 2014

Photography. It is my stress reliever, my tour guide, my icebreaker, my wingman, my ego booster, my career aspiration and my ultimate passion. It is the reason I work long gruelling shifts, to save enough money to finance a plane ticket and a hostel bed in an overseas location.

Like a blind man using his cane, I use my camera to direct and navigate myself through the unfamiliar territory, most of the time to no particular destination.I am attracted to the idea of being in a place on this earth that I wasn’t necessarily ever meant to be. Being able to freeze frame the moments in which I am living, moments I choose to take, keep and later share with others. To express my own creative vision.

I feel I have an adventurous streak, along with a positive and open attitude towards the world. Being fortunate enough to visit over 20 different countries in my sort time here, I have an ever-brewing eagerness to grow and learn from the places I visit, and the people I meet. This opportunity to spend time and absorb the years of knowledge from such an accomplished figure in the field as Jason Edwards would mean a great deal to me.

Los dedos cruzados,
