My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

Australia | Sunday, January 13, 2013 | flickr photos

I finished studying my Advanced Diploma of photography in December, where I was awarded best series at the graduation exhibition. My work has been published in many magazines such as Surfing Life, Tracks, Riptide, Movement, Soggybones and Slam. I have held and contributed to many exhibitions and have my own website. I have a passion for travelling and sharing other cultures with our own through my photography. I was recently chosen to go to India to teach english and photography at an orphanage in Delhi called the Salaam Baalak Trust. I took this opportunity to shoot the Indian culture, architecture and people which lead to me staying and travelling on my own to the unsafe area of Kashmir. It was there that I shot my 5 image series. It was a challenging place to photograph, with terrible light most days and the people's attitude towards western tourists. I can adapt to foreign cultures very easily and have exceptional people skills. You should choose me to go to Oman because I would love to further my photo journalist skills alongside Jason Edwards and I can contribute to The National Geographic.
