My Scholarship entry - Awareness is the key of learning

I have always been in constant contact with nature and human artificiality. It created two opposing orders in my life. First it was Mother Nature's creations and then it was human destruction. All my voyages around the world have further supported my desire to make a difference.
First it was Costa Rica. There I had the oportunity to carry out a Turtle Conservation Project. This sparked my awareness of environmental issues. Second was Thailand which triggered off my interest in immigration problems. I gained the ability to interact with completely different cultures as I mixed with several ethnic groups. At the end of the 96 hours of community service, I felt better educated on issues such as the displacement of people. However, it wasn't until my recent voyage around Europe when I developed a deep connection with my camera and the experiences I was living. That simple click left a tangible memory as it captured the exact moment and when i returned to Spain, I could transmit the knowledge I gained during my travel, helping me to return home with more than stories but with actual evidence.
Even the smallest action makes a difference and that's my aim in Peru.
