Well Look At That: Art Culture in Vienna

About alanaallekotte

I'm a teacher in Phoenix, Arizona.  I'm also a dancer, singer, movie-watcher, drawer, talker, listener, laugher, eater, reader, blogger and so much more.  Before I came to Phoenix, I was at school at the University of California in Santa Barbara where I studied Anthropology and Psychology.

Like a lot of other people who love to travel, I find meeting new people and talking about cultural beliefs and norms extremely interesting.  People aren't very different from one another but the way that our cultures shape us certainly changes from place to place.

I traveled a lot as a kid because my parents would bring me and my sister around the world to stay with families and learn about life elsewhere.  I've done some traveling as an adult to a bit of central America, most of Western Europe, some of Eastern Europe, and a lot of America, but I obviously can't wait to travel more.

Lately I've been involved in couchsurfing.com and I've found great people in other cities and just as amazing people who come through Phoenix. Like I said, meeting new people, especially from different places, is thrilling, and couchsurfing.com is a great resource for finding open-minded, diversely cultured conversation partners.  A good couchsurfing experience can make a trip to a city emotionally memorable and rewarding.

Next year I want to be in New York City or Europe and I'm waiting to see what happens as my teaching career takes a hiatus and I move to something else.  I'm young, hard working, optimistic, responsible and looking for an opportunity to do something I can feel proud of.
