Through a dreamer's eyes

London: a true melting pot

First time in London is kind of similar to everyone, I guess. You stare with big eyes and everything feels like magic, you go ‘woah’ about all, though you have seen things like these back home. However, first time in London for dreamers is even worse/better than this… Be careful, fellow dreamers, London is a bittersweet symphony. How do I know? Because I am a dreamer myself.
I arrived in London with a couple of friends, by the end of July, the perfect weather: nor too hot or too cold.
I will always remember our first day in London, that feeling so tiny and so enormous at the exact same time. We took the underground from the airport and we arrived at Camden Town, our friendly neighbour for three weeks, we were looking for Darfield street, where we rent two rooms in a student flat, surprisingly no building number had been given to us, so we started wondering in the street, hoping for a sign. And a sign, indeed, arrived… A bunch of guys, 20-something, chatting, drinking, in the middle of the day. ‘It must be this one, I’m sure’, and I was right, that was the building, our flat was at the ground floor. An mexican woman was eventually waiting for us, the house manager, she showed us the house. Ana, the house manger, made us sign a contract, with rules and blah-blah. That was it! We were in London, we had a house, who could possibly care about sleeping or unpacking our staff?
We met our first flatmates a few minutes after Ana left… He was german, for at least one week we still haven’t figure out the mane, so we started calling him Teddy. Teddy from week #2 had a roommate: JA, a spanish guy, one of the best person I’ve ever met. The other single room had many people in it: week #1 a belgian guy, named Thomas, we didn’t know much about him; week #2 a spanish girl, Marta, which became part of our gang, with JA and other spanish guys, chatting in our back yard, drinking beer and smoking cigarettes; week #3 Mario, an italian guy, and a swiss girl, Svetlana, replaced one of my friend.
Exploring London has been easy, it was like we had been living there for centuries. Places and people that will rest in our memories forever: Camden Market, Camden Head, Primrose Hill, Buckingham Palace, St. Paul’s Cathedral… It’s the best trip I’ve ever done, but coming back has never been more difficult, nostalgia reached a new level and I'm still recovering.
