I am currently listening to “Happy” on the radio. I have also heard Beyonce, Selena Gomez, J-Lo, Chris Brown, Train, and last night the radio played country. The radio seems to cycle between Lugandan songs, and American ones. It is odd, but it is nice to have something similar in a world that is different. It makes this place seem like a dream though. I feel as if I am an outside observer to these people’s lives who is only there to disrupt their lives, like a nuicence camera crew. When I hear American music, it as if there is some small part of me that is in the “real world” that is calling me back. But, that is not the case. My body is here as much as my mind may be slightly absent. There is no second body back home where I actually am. I am here and I hope it gets less surreal. Also, “Timber” just came on and my older brother is singing. Just thought I would mention it. Eliza just informed me that the 19-year-old likes music, and that is about as much of a conversation she has been able to get out of him. At least he finally said more than two words. Bruno Mars was also just playing
