I am Akmal from Pamir District which is located in Tajikistan and was istablished in 1925 in Badakhshan, later at the same year this area was renamed the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region and had been left to the U.S.S.R under the jurisdiction of the Tadzhik SSR.Prior to this I had been de jure under the Emirate of Boukhara. Badakhshan was known by medieval Arab and European writer as “Balascian” the name balas Ruby, mentioned by Marco Polo,is still found in gemomology and defines the Lale Badkhshan, the finest form of Ruby.
Pamir is famous by his Glasier and Mountains ,the Pamir Mountains are formed by the junction or knot of the Himalayas,Tian Shan,Karakoram,Kunlum and Hindu Kush ranges. They are among the world’s highest mountains and known as the “Roof of the World”.
Understanding a culture through the food it means that when you see how people are living and eating, you discover their culture. It means you know more and more what’s happened in their brain, their way of thinking, of doing the things. Also trough their music, you discover the culture too.
But here the question is food. My first trip outside my country was to India, we had also classmate from Africa, Lao,Vietnam and others country and we always are shared our experiences with each other. If I close my eyes ,and have a food which is very spicy ,i know that the food was cooking by Indian,or if you plate is fool of root you now that it's a person with African culture and like that.
And mountains area you can see how hard the women work to get the vegetables, the corn, the patatoes, you understand the role they have in the life of the community.
