You know that happy place you go to to escape from certain things? Those photos in your mind? That is what photography helps do for me. It captures those very significant moments. No photo has ever failed to cheer me up, to transport me back to a place, to remind of the emotional surge i felt while looking at the real thing.
My photos from dilli haat symbolise this happy place and also stand as a testimonial to the beauty and aura of India. My story is also a very different story of my country. Usually percieved as a backward nation, most of the world views India a certain way.The DILLI HAAT provides the ambience of a traditional Rural Haat or village market, but one suited for more contemporary needs. A unique bazaar, in the heart of the city, it displays the richness of Indian culture on a permanent basis. My collection is aimed at changing this perception of India by emphasising my culture at its best. That is my contribution to photography!
I have no knowledge of the finer aspects of photography but i think i have an eye for capturing the moment in all its beauty. The captions are lines from poems written by me. This is a blending of my two favorite forms of art, poetry and photography; one a soulful sketch the other the words of the soul.
