These photos represent river Sturba in Livno area in Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is one of three rivers flowing throughout Livanjsko Polje the largest karst field in the world. The river Sturba nowadays is endangered, most damaged to its fragile ecosystem is caused by the people living on the banks of this river. There are many reasons for that but in my opinion main reason is low level of knowledge on environmental issues. People just don't care for beauty that surrounds them until is destroyed. Then they ask themselves what happened?! This essay is also dedicated to one species almost extinct from the river due to illegal hunting and river pollution . This is freshwater crayfish (Austropotamobius pallipes) whose number rapidly decreased in population. Me and my friends helped them to survive in one small habitat in the central part of the river by informing people on their importance in the river. Somehow we managed to help them to stay there, lets hope they stay forever.
People in these photos flying into the river as an example of what we can do in the future and that is usage of this priceless resource in best possible ways. They are showing endless connection between humans and mother nature.

This is my attempt to do something with my photography. I realized that photography is powerful tool that still can change some things, especially in small communities, but worldwide as well.
Why me? Because I am passionate photographer from Bosnia and Herzegovina with one dream to learn of those incredible places and people worth seeing before dying, and of course to share with others all those beautiful moments and stories captured by my camera.
