My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

I am a 20 year old young woman that was born and raised in both a small city in the gulf of Alaska and rural towns down in the Aleutian Chain. My family isn't very wealthy and I've only recently (a year ago) was able to own my own Canon camera. For years before this I've always wanted one from seeing others using Canon's or Nikon's and I've taken hundreds of photos of since owning one. I took this application in a heartbeat for the chance to learn professionally without having pay an arm and a leg for a class instead (figuratively speaking) or letting my interest to affect my parents. My dad, who worked under Fish and Game, had me accustomed to rural, extreme weathered, areas; instead of this being a problem, it is still only a great opportunity for me to take a shot out for something that I'm not only deeply interested in, but may be the best choice I've made for my life.
