My Scholarship entry - Hemnesberget

I work with many artistic mediums, photography being my favorite one. I always return to it. It is a dream to work for a publication like national geographic, but I'm getting on in years now. The market is so saturated with so many talented people. I crave to travel, to document my experiences and feel most at home in the remote, where there is no hum of electricity. Photographically I find it difficult to be inspired in Ireland as I am looking from eyes who have seen this way of life for years, it just doesn't inspire me. I come alive as I hit the road on yet another off road adventure not knowing what will greet my eyes and senses around every turn. Making a living as an artist just doesn't work, its a lot of time, effort and money (mine) into something you rarely see any return from. Im now at the point where Im trying to make a move into a more commercially viable area using my skills with a camera to at least recoup my losses without selling my soul to advertising. Feedback from people has given the push for this application, they really believe in me. I let my website shut down with 8 years nonpaid work on it. Its time I believed in me too, this journey could help with that.
