My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited
Iceland | Monday, January 14, 2013 | 5 photos
Photography is my passion, it is a driving force in my life and I am constantly inspired to grow and learn as much as possible. I spent the first 3 years of college studying computer science, rarely enjoying it. Last August in a moment of panic and desperation I made a much needed change to geography. I have always had a connection with the natural world and it was also a means of pursuing photography, so it seemed like a logical choice. Since making this change my life has improved greatly. I enjoy my classes, I won an award in cartography from Nat Geo and I am currently living and studying in Iceland. I came here to study the unique and diverse geography, but also to become a better photographer. I have traveled all over this island, gone on great adventures and seen amazing sites. I constantly strive to make each pictures better than the last, whether by using different settings, framing the shot differently, climbing on top of a building to get a better angle or waiting for the perfect lighting. I am critical of my work and always comparing it to others. Given this opportunity, I will make the most of every moment and take in as much knowledge and experience as possible.
