My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited
Pakistan | Thursday, July 4, 2013 | flickr photos
I am inhabitant of the valley that is called Swiss of Asia, the Buddhists named it Udhyana, but for me it’s SWAT, the land of snow, water, air & trees, which attracted tourists from around the globe.
Before the 9/11 the tourists and veteran Photographers were used to visit & they captured the joyful movement of my country that grabbed international community attentions. Which seem would not be possible in the imminent future any more. It seems that the government failed to protect the ancient monuments physically, now it’s the responsibility of media and indie contributors to preserve the life through camera lens.
As a journalist, I believe that there are some deep-rooted stories behind the news that should be reported for the mass awareness. Which got me to multimedia journalistic skills, while photography is one of its basic components and I have continued as indie photographer. After the fellowship, I would like to work on the following projects.
Exploring Alpine Lakes
Windfall in Swat forests
Melting glaciers of Kalam
I would love to shoot with camera instead of a gun in the area known as the paradise on earth- Swat that has been mutilated by the long-standing violence.
