My Scholarship entry- A Week on the Israeli-Egyptian Border

A Week with Border Patrol on the Israeli Egyptian Border.

If I see a great picture opportunity and I don't have a camera I feel physical pain. When I get a perfect picture it feels like a small orgasm inside. *That moment when the sdcard in the camera exceeds the worth of the camera*

This is why I am never without a camera. I sleep with it next to me so I can take pictures of the light coming in through the blinders in the morning, or a portrait of the woman I wake up next to. Or both together. I've gotten pretty good at it.

Photography is by far my biggest talent and what gives me the most joy. I can't imagine a life without a camera, but I have chosen not to pursue photography as a career, mainly because I don't like selling myself. Instead I'm an entrepreneur. I am building an iPhone app called MixTiles that lets you easily turn your pictures into home decoration. The main reason I apply for this competition is because I am scared to never explore the path not taken.

What I want out of the scholarship is to know why I suck. I know I suck because I have never taken a photography course. I am just riding on sheer talent. I always try to get good photographers to tell me why I suck but its too damn hard to find good photographers.
