Photographs, Like light from distant stars they emanate light from moments in time which can be shared with future generations. Sharing these moments through photography is something I value greatly as I find it’s the purest way of conveying my view of our world.
I remember saving up to buy my first camera, I couldn't afford to go digital at the time, instead I opted for a second hand 35mm Canon SLR. I couldn't wait to have my first roll of film developed, and to my amazement the photographs came back completely blank, it was at this moment I knew I wanted to master this art form and to never let it defeat me again.
Ever since undertaking the pursuit to become a photographer, I’ve struggled with deciding which path to follow. The passion I have for documenting the world around me and the experiences it offers is something I hold dearly. I enjoy nothing more than wandering aimlessly with my camera and seeing what the world has to offer.
However the route to becoming a National Geographic Photographer has been elusive to me, so when I found out about this scholarship I had to jump at the opportunity, theres a lot I could learn from assisting Jason in the Peruvian Amazon.
