A Classic Topless Model

Travelling along the Mother Road a flash of red came into view, so we pulled over to find it was a beautifully restored and maintained 1957 convertible corvette. You find this fantastic vehicle, (a perfect photo opportunity) in front of the Route 66 themed Hackberry General Store. You have to keep your eyes peeled as the place comes up fast on the route and you almost miss it; it is on Route 66 approximately 20 miles outside of Kingman. They have the most awesome stuff lying around along with beautifully restored old gas pumps, none of which are working and the store is really a museum of Route 66 memorabilia.

They sell bottled soda and snacks inside, and whilst you make a purchase you are taken back in time looking around at all the route 66 stuff. Inside there is stuff everywhere from the floor to the ceiling; there are Route 66 souvenirs to purchase, a replica diner and a wall where you can write your name on your own money and pin it to become part of the history.

The bathrooms make for an interesting experience as well, as a trip to the men's room my partner explained was enjoyable because the walls were covered with photos of half naked women and the ladies room had two life sized mannequins, so even a trip to the bathroom was entertaining.

Outside there are a collection of rusting vintage cars, old machinery and nostalgic signs making it a place to linger for many a photo opportunity.

Hackberry General Store offers both a fun and reflective look back at what life would have been like on the mother road and is well worth a visit.
This place was amazing with all the old stuff, what some would see as junk would see that here it's treasure, certainly worth the stop, so much to see, so many memories...
