The many stories of Greece
My photos were taken on a trip to Greece, as a planned and directed trip we were limited from the more authentic Greece. Instead shown the glamour of the history and architecture, a side that is flaunted for the public while the reality is hidden. My images show the other side of the coin, the people that make Greece the wonderful place it is. Showing a glimpse of the many stories of Greece that although hidden from the public eyes make it a unique country of its own.
Being a photographer for national geographic has been a dream of mine for many years, I do not just want to take pictures that please the audience I want to take pictures that makes the audience reflect on the content, show them the underside or the unknown of the world we live in. I want to be taking photos like Robert Capa and Tom Stoddart or have my photo covering the World Press Photography of the Year book. I feel there is more for me than just weddings or family portraits. I need to open the lens for people to view the amazing and real world.
Living in a rural town I have had limited opportunities to learn directly from photographers. I was chosen to attend a photography course at Sydney art school as well as studying photography as a subject in my final years at school. I feel I know the basics but would love the opportunity to shadow a photographer that uniquely shares his passion and skill such as Jason Edwards.
I am eager, willing and confident I can succeed in this field and am looking for a mentor so I can develop my passion.
